Kevin Scotton is a photographer from Connecticut. Born and raised by a mechanical engineer and a freelance graphic designer, he spent his childhood developing strong bonds with numerous pets, running through the backyards of his suburban neighborhood with friends, and exploring local museums.
Kevin was always going to be a veterinarian. He studied conservation and wildlife management for two years, before a string of events led him to let go of that dream. He picked up his grandfather’s Nikon soon after, and his focus became clear. He transferred schools and changed majors, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in fine arts and a concentration in photography two years later. He stepped into his first product photography role shortly after, and began making personal work in his free time.
Currently, he’s studying at Rochester Institute of Technology in pursuit of an MFA in Photography and Related Media. The experience has led him to be more skeptical of institutions in America, and to ask questions about their teachings through photography.
His work teeter-totters between a radiation of love and an absolute fear for the future, much like a naïve child slowly having the light in their eyes dimmed, one witnessed horror at a time.
